For me, it's not about "what the work says," it's about "what the work does." I paint for myself, but I also paint so someone can have an emotional and physical response to something I have created. Art should be fun, personal, and beautiful to look at.
I have – and always will – love all things kitsch, camp, and sexy. I love Fairy Tales and the Woods of Faerie Land, Disney, musical theatre, the Backspace Dance Ensemble, glitter, drag queens, makeup, storytelling, the emotional, the erotic, the exaggerated, and the female figure. I am currently working on another large series heavily inspired by Fairy Tales with each of my twelve ladies portraying the 12 Dancing Princesses.
