Faerie Land has always existed to me – like a parallel universe that (if you know where to look) you can tumble through the concealed entrance to find yourself in company with witches, mermaids, elves, fairies, nymphs, princesses, and beasts.
Inspired by the enchanting stories of Hans Christian Anderson, Sarah Addison Allen, the Brothers Grimm, and of course Stephen Sondheim’s Into The Woods, I love making paintings of the magical woods and women of faerie land where flowers glow, fairy dust glitters, and the trees are made of icing and jewels.
Art should be full of magic, spirit, and beauty with enchantment and strength that each viewer experiences in their own unique way.
