The Strongest of Fairies

The drawings in my Strongest of Fairies series have documented my personal transition and growth since moving to New York City. The drawings began as Warrior Women as I struggled through some of the most challenging phases of my life in this city that is both glittering hero and brutal villain. It was only recently that I decided to revisit the series and finish it once and for all. But the struggle, pain, self-preservation, and war paint of the original works do not resonate with me now; so I softened the women - their fear and their tempers - and gave them wings.

My personal and artistic growth has led me down the rabbit hole to the ethereal imagery and beautiful literature of Fairytales. With my current work, I am investigating the landscapes, mythical creatures, curses, love, and magic that have persisted through centuries of storytelling.
